Catering policy information

1. Rules in this policy apply to all catering orders placed. It is your responsibility to read and understand this policy before placing your order. You can contact us for questions.
2. Cash, Zelle, CashApp & Cards accepted.
3. Prices are subject to change. Catering Order minimum applies.
4. All orders must be placed in advance. Some items require longer lead time.
5. "In Process" orders cannot be canceled without a fee. Orders under $400 are considered "In-Process" 48 hours before handover time. Add 24 hours for every additional $400. All orders over $3,600 are considered in-process 10 days before handover day.
6. For orders of $400 and under, full payment is due at the time of order, and must be placed a minimum of 72 hours in advance. For orders over $400, Catering Contract must be signed and a minimum of 50% of the total will be due as deposit at the time of placing order. Contract will be considered in effect once the deposit is made. Full payment (including all service charges and applicable taxes) will be due on the date provided on your contract. If full payment is not made by the provided date, the order may be canceled without notice or refund.
7. Food Tasting can be arranged for orders over $1000 for maximum 2 people. There will be no charge for the Food Tasting, if the order is confirmed. If the order is not confirmed or canceled, regular prices apply to the Food Tasting items. You will be billed. Some items are only prepared in bulk, where tasting may not be possible (e.g. Goat Leg Karahi).
8. Refund Policy: Refund options are only available if 100% payment has already been made at least 24 hours before the "in-process" time. If the order is cancelled within 24 hours of the start of "in-process" time, 50% of the total food price, and 100% of the delivery charges (if applicable) will be refunded. If the order is already past the "in-process" start time, 25% of the food total and 100% delivery charges (if applicable) will be refunded. No exceptions to this refund policy.
9. We provide food for your event. Limited service is available at $45-$100 per person per hour. Services vary.
10. We will cook and provide food at safe temperatures as per food safety regulations at the time of handover. Customers are responsible for keeping food at safe temperature after handover. Food provided is recommended to be consumed within first 3 hours of the handover, provided it was kept at the recommended safe temperature. Nina's Desi Kitchen will not be responsible for any issues if the food is consumed after 3 hours of handover, at which point the food may not be safe to consume.
11. Nina’s Desi Kitchen will not be responsible for any loss of food, due to any reason after handover. Check everything during handover.
12. Delivery:  Orders can be delivered to you for free or for a fee. For the first 3 road-miles, delivery is Free. For all orders over 3 miles or outside Southington, delivery charges apply and vary depending on your delivery location.
13. Delivery disclaimer: We will not be responsible or liable for loss of your food during a delivery, due to circumstances outside of the restaurant's control. For example, severe weather during delivery, collision of the delivery vehicle, medical emergency during a delivery, etc. Consider purchasing delivery insurance.
14. CT tax rates apply to all prepared food (at 7.35%) and services (at 6.35%). For tax exempt organizations, a copy of filled-out State Exemption documentation will be required when placing an order.
15. We do not provide chafing racks, sternos, serving utensils, napkins, or dinnerware for events, unless purchased as part of the catering order. 
16. Metal food pans with lids and other items can be provided against a refundable security deposit due at the time of payment. Security deposit will be calculated per MSRP of items (for example, $24 for a half pan & lid). Items are due back at the restaurant within 3 days after the event date. If not returned, a 10% of the total retail price will be billed as daily rent for all unreturned or lost items after the first 3 days, for the next 10 days or when the MSRP of the items have been fully paid from the deposit. Security deposit will be refunded in full for all undamaged returned items, if returned within the first 3 days.
